What Other are Saying

Christmas With Louisa and Friends (Manuel Music)
"As a country singer, Nova Scotia's Louisa Manuel doesn't have as big a stylistic stocking to fill as Terry Kelly,
but Christmas With Louisa and Friends (Manuel Music) is a warm and lighthearted affair. It's stuffed with age old favourites
and a trio of originals -Christmas Come and Gone, The World Doesn't Stop For Christmas and A Christmas Lullaby - that see
Manuel display a range that goes from sultry to angelic."
"Manuel gets a honky tonk gospel groove going on Go Tell It On The Mountain, sliding over Kevin Roach's stinging
Dobro slide, while What Child Is This finds her trying out a jazzy percussion and bass combo plus a prominent flute part.
Not only does it make for a more interesting listening experience, it also points towards further developments in Manuel's
music down the road."

Louisa Manuel Releases Christmas CD
Christmas with Louisa and Friends
Louisa Manuel releases a Christmas CD and performs intimate release show at Boondocks
"When I decided to record a Christmas CD, I wanted it to be a testimonial to my upbringing. I selected songs that
remind me of the Christmas memories I share with loved ones. Recording this CD has been a gift to me. It has allowed me to
explore songwriting, to expand my knowledge of music and to awaken the artist in me." Louisa
Teamed with producer/songwriter Jeff Hope, Louisa Manuel takes a new approach to the recording process with her 3rd release
Christmas with Louisa and Friends. Hope brings out the best in Louisa. She is relaxed and engages diverse styles of singing
from soft melodic approaches, to gospel, to country, to spoken word. For the first time, Louisa has exercised her writing
chops and she delivers an inspiring first effort with A Christmas Lullaby(Louisa/Bonang), one of three originals co- written
by Louisa. She has also taken the bold step of narrating The Night Before Christmas, reminding you of when you were a child
and heard it for the first time. Other highlights include 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' and Go Tell It On The Mountain.
Louisa is proud that this CD is a complete Atlantic Canadian production. "I wanted everything about this recording
to be about home; this CD was produced, designed and manufactured in this region. Thank you to Jeff Hope, Steve Dupuis, Paul
Kennedy and Anne Oakley for your contributions.
Louisa's career is notable. Along the way she has record two memorable recordings 'I Don't Think I Love You' and 'Catch
a Rainbow'. Louisa's first single 'I Don't Think I Love You' charted on national radio and her video 'Only Memories' aired
on TNN in the USA. Louisa was further validated when 'Boy, Oh Boy Girl', her second video, garnered her national airplay on
CMT.
Louisa has been recognized by her peers with numerous musical award nominations most recently a nomination for Country
Artist Of The Year at the East Coast Music Awards in 2002. She has performed prestigious showcases at national conferences
and was invited to perform with Tom Jackson's Huron Carol. She shared the stage with many world class artists including Billy
Ray Cyrus, Bobby Curtola, Doc Walker, Alfie Zappacosta and Sue Medley to name a few.
